"I would like to inform the public of the new changes undergone to Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield, CT. Once managed by National Fairways, the golf course is now owned and managed by the City of Bridgeport. With the hire of 2 new superintendents, Gerry Brett and Sam Kadi, "The Wheel is now Rolling again." Vast improvements to the 36 hole, 400 acre course has given rebirth of life to the City of Bridgeport. With word of mouth getting louder about the Wheel, a swift talk is in the air among the community and state that the "Wheels" Greens are as good as any other golf course in the state, if not better than some private courses. Gerry Brett class A superintendent, Golf Course Superintendents Ass. with 20 years experience, and Sam Kadi, Class C, GCSAA with 7 years experience, Gerry and Sam have both brought the game of golf back to a community to be enjoyed by many." KS
"Norwich is one of the best conditioned Municipal Courses in New England...Not long...but changes in elevation and lush fairways make it play longer...it places a premium on placement. Greens are fairly fast, samll and undulating." JC
"Since the rennovations of a couple of years ago, the course is beginning to take shape. The traps could use some fine tuning. You are not sure what you are going to be hitting out of from one trap to the next. Same for the greens. The speed of the greens can be a little inconsistent. The fairways are really coming along." AH
"The location and accessibility of this course is unique. The Town of Putnam borders MA & RI making it an easy trip for those golfers looking for something new and exciting. Well maintained. Great greens with alot of character. Great staff. Hats off to the designers/owners/operators Mike and Sally Donovan." KSB
"Greens are very big but VERY tough to read. Playing partners and I very often misread the greens. (Misread breaks as well as speed.) The fairways had been cut wet so there was lots of dead grass clumps laying everywhere. I walked the somewhat hilly course...and was very tired after round of 18." MH
"Nice course to improve your game on your short game, irons used in many situations. The course is fairly short, but well groomed and well kept. I would recommend this course for the weekend golfer looking for an affordable and carefree experience. The crowd that attends this course has a very common everyday person who is attempting to prefect their game, without criticism of the rangers. " MC
"I think that the course is in very good condition, and that it is a joy to play. The front nine is somewhat open and has many bunkers surrounding the greens. It also has a few nice par threes that are straight away and are easy. The back nine is tight and has water on seven of the nine holes. Straight second shots are a must to these water guarded greens. The course doesn't really require long drives but it needs straight shots. Overall the course is great and is a must play." SG
"Good golf course. It is open with many bunkers. Would like to see what other golfers think about this course." MW
